First Friday
July 1
You've seen and read about Binghamton's "Castle on the Hill." On First Friday, July 1, learn about Willard... a similar historic state hospital located on Seneca Lake. Willard gained publicity several years ago when hundreds of patient suitcases were found in an attic of one of the abandoned buildings.
This exhibit includes recent interior and exterior photographs of many original, now abandoned, buildings of the complex, including patient rooms and wards, the "treatment room", the morgue, and cemetery. Included in the display is one of the actual patient suitcases from the abandoned attic!
The exhibit is Free. It opens at 6:00pm at the historic Perry Building, 89 Court Street, Binghamton.
