Newark Valley Municipal Building
Newark Valley
Newark Valley Union Free School was the result of the generosity of Royal W. Clinton. On February 14, 1887, Clinton proposed to the village that if they would unite school districts and secure a site, he would have a school house built "suited to the necessities of the village". The result was the formation of Union free school district No. 2, and on October 25, 1887, the building was formally presented to the board of education. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in November 2006, today the building serves as Post Office, Municipal Building, and is home to the Newark Valley Historical Society.
