Near Westside Historic District
Elmira
The Elmira Near Westside Historic District is a cohesive residential area with small commercial buildings and several churches. Occupying 25-30 blocks, it holds the largest concentration of Victorian homes in the country and the largest concentrations of turn-of-the-century homes in New York State. Half of the sidewalks are still slate slabs, many properties have road front lawns.
